Sunday in the afternoon

August 15, 2010

. . . what have you got to lose?

If you’re looking for a good Sunday read, Pamela Jones of Groklaw — who could be an outstanding journalist masquerading as a paralegal, or a paralegal who is one of the best journalists ever — outlines the Oracle-Google dustup in her Friday post here.

There’s a lot here and there’s more to it that what most folks, me included, have speculated. Have a read and we’ll pick this up tomorrow.

What’s the line on this? Will this encourage MostlySoft to make a grab
for the whole Linux pie? Can we count on Darrel McBride to rise from
the ashes and rain lawyers on the whole world?

Mr Guy, what is plan B for you and me?

School supplies are on sale now, the Colonel is stocking up on Big
    Chiefs and #2 Ticonderoga sticks.

No line on this. No, MS won’t take any more of the pie than they’ve tried to in the past, and failed. I don’t think we’ll see Darl anywhere near this.

At the moment, I have faith in the courts, Google’s lawyers and, most importantly, the GPL. At the moment . . . .
